Event Review: The Nourished Woman – Nutrition & Meditation

Last week I had the pleasure of attending part of a chakra healing series called The Nourished Woman, hosted by Abneet Sandhar at Another Space Studio in Vancouver.

We started the night off with a wonderful Indian chai tea:

  • Ginger
  • Turmeric
  • Cardamon Seeds
  • Cinnamon (optional)
  • Water

The directions are simple: Bring ingredients to bowl and simmer for 45 minutes.

Delicious and spicy!


Then we were taken through a long meditation and movement practice, where we focused on our mind, body, and breathing. Abneet was great at leading us through it, going deep, but at the same time not taking things too seriously. We centred in on self care, which left us feeling empowered and awakened.

Later we tried a lovely South American cologne called Agua De Florida that’s used by shamans for healing and cleansing. We first rubbed it into our palms then inhaled the aromas. The smell was incredible – a mix of citrus, floral, and spicy tones. It felt so soft and soothing to the skin, and to the soul.

Abneet closed the night by giving us a lovely homemade vegan cheese (almost like cream cheese!) – spread on cucumber and topped with tarragon. So yummy!

Vegan Cheese Ingredients:

  • sunflower seeds
  • sauerkraut
  • nutritional yeast
