In her career as a physio, she realized that it is very easy to get caught into cycles of burnout and stress and decided to learn more about self care and stress management. In her quest to find balance in her own life and career, she began sharing the insights she gained through conversations with other health care practitioners and entrepreneurs on her blog and podcast. She held her first health and wellness retreat in Mexico this past October as part of her mission to help others find self-care strategies and give people a chance to unwind in a balanced way. The Balanced Sessions are her latest endeavor to help others find their own version of balance.

Janel played semi-pro Women’s tackle football but unfortunately had to retire due to knee injuries, but she soon found that CrossFit was exactly what she was looking for to fuel her competitive fire as an athlete.
