If you’re looking for a great outdoor place to do some yoga, there’s rooftop yoga in Bo Kaap, Cape Town!
It was the last sunrise class of the season (I was lucky!), but there will still be sunset classes on Monday nights at 530pm.
Here’s a recap of my experience:
I arrived just before 630am to set up my mat, while it was still dark. I can’t believe I actually got up that early! Dawn was just creeping up so you could see the silhouette of Table Mountain and Lion’s Head in the distance.
Nena (in red and black) led us through a soothing yoga class as the sun came up and hit the mountains from 630-730am.
What a way to see the sunrise!
How cool are the clouds?! There’s a reason it’s called Table Mountain…
I may or may not be staying in the building with the arches…talk about convenient!
I loved seeing the beautiful colours of the Bo Kaap houses.
Fall was definitely in the air, but we warmed up during the sequence.
What a great experience! Thanks Nena for hosting such a lovely class!
Right from the rooftop!
I took a timelapse video of the class, and obviously couldn’t help taking some photos as well!
Then I headed downstairs to the Harvest Cafe & Deli for coffee and breakfast. What a beautiful spot.
I ordered the Beetroot and Berry Smoothie Bowl – yum!
Then sat with my coffee looking out at the stunning view of the colourful Bo Kaap buildings with Table Mountain and Lion’s Head in the background.
Excuse the backpack, that’s where I sat. Love the indoor forest!
Soon, breakfast was served! Beautiful!
So was my view. Yes, that’s Table Mountain you’re seeing :).
This was seriously DELICIOUS. Bonus: it was nutritious and healthy, made from all natural ingredients. Beetroot, berries, toasted coconut, granola, what’s not to love? It took a lot of willpower to photograph it before diving in!
Yoga with a stunning view, then delicious eats in an urban eden. What a perfect way to start the day.
Thanks to the staff at Harvest Cafe & Deli for being so friendly and efficient!
Harvest Cafe & Deli is located at 102 Wale Street and serves wonderful brekkie and lunch.
