Studio Feature: Unraveled Yoga in Cape Town

There’s a great new yoga studio right in the heart of Cape Town called Unraveled Yoga, and I couldn’t be happier! I’ve had an unlimited pass for several months and have been absolutely loving it.
It’s run by New York-trained instructor Maya Pratt, and focuses on vinyasa flows, budokon, and even prenatal yoga classes.
There are also contemporary dance classes on Tuesday nights 🙂
And get this. Your first class is free, and if you’re local, you actually get 2 WEEKS free! How insane is that? I’ve never seen that before. I’d suggest taking full advantage and trying all the different classes and instructors to see what you like best.
(Side note: I haven’t come across an instructor I haven’t liked! They’re all great)
I really like the look of the studio space, it’s warm and welcoming.
The rooms are bright and have awesome graffiti (I mean common, they have elephants on the walls!).
There’s even a studio dog named Huckleberry! He may or may not have stolen my heart…
The instructors push you, with many of them going at a fairly fast pace to keep things interesting. I’ve tried basically all the classes (except prenatal, those don’t apply to me just yet ;)), and they’re all great. I really love the fluidity of the yoga sequences, it’s a refreshing change.
The contemporary dance class is also a good challenge, it’s unlike any contemporary I’ve done before so I’ve been pushing my boundaries.
The classes are lively with music playing throughout, and some of the instructors even sing a bit!
Unraveled also offers teacher training for more advanced yogis, or those eager to learn.
I highly recommend this studio. If you’re in town, check it out!
